I Can Be Happy, Too
i see the daisies on the hillside.
i can be happy, too.
i don't think about the tears cried
or the tenderness of blue.
rainbow glitter, princess power,
orange sunset, happy hour.
taste the salt upon your skin
as soon as you give me that grin
and you make it better than the last.
i know the worst is past.
i see in red and pink and gold.
my heart was bought and sold.
the love is all around me, still.
i can be happy,
be grand and sappy.
line my eyes with diamonds
and be all you've ever wanted.
i can be happy, as well.
pluck me from your favorite garden.
i'll be your favorite daffodil.
