I Call It Fate

We like to think free will is ours. Indeed, for most of us, it really seems that way! We choose what shows to watch, what books to read, our mates, and what we think and do and say! We might feel free, but why so often are the things we love the same things others hate? It's almost like God wished us on a star! And so I think our life is but our fate - the circumstances we are born into - our health; the wealth of our own family; our culture and the things we’re taught are true; emotions shown us; all we hear and see! Your life -predestined- God already knows. Perhaps “pre-mortal,” your own woes you chose! Sept. 23, 2020 for Chantelle Anne Cooke's Free Will Vs Destiny Poetry Contest

Nicely thought out and written, my friend. Your handling of this challenging topic deserves your 1st place finish. Who can fathom why we were born into our family or how we "happened" to meet the one who would become our spouse? Congrats!

Yes! I have so often questioned if our journey is fate or destiny...there are so many factors that come in to play. A sure winner, dear Andrea.

A succinct question I am asking more now than ever before. "why so often are the things we love the same things others hate?" Wow! You read my mind.

Love this, Andrea, i believe the great script is written for us, yet also believe one can make an earthly difference also. love your poem, it asks and answers so many questions. This reminds me of the question. 'why are we poets' and are we trying hard to make a difference.

Interesting write! Indeed we are put in a set place, at a set time, to certain circumstances.
