So sad to recall Sir Razzle-Dazzle, my sweet horse of youth. Endless days riding in deep forests wild. Calm and peaceful, two free spirits, resting in grass; my horse and me. Thought we had forever to seek thrills. Oh, death took my, horse ! ____________________________ January 17, 2019 Poetry/Diminished Hexaverse/Horse Copyright Protected, ID 19-1105-713-02 All Rights Reserved. Written under Pseudonym. Your photo catches the imagery nicely! Love the name of your horse. A beautiful ride, a wonderful peace, a sad ending.

So many of us wished we had horses and you actually did! How wonderful it must have been to ride whenever you felt like it. I'm sorry he passed, but look at the great times you shared together, Dear Heart. Best wishes in the contest. Love, Carolyn

Carolyn, thanks for the visit, and lovely comment, yes I was lucky for the happiness of Razzle-Dazzle but having a horse now would be way too expensive.

Hello Dear Heart I thought that this was a lovely poem both in form and content. I think though that Charles' definition of the poetic format refers to number of words rather than syllables per line but do check. Best wishes Wendy

I think it's my mistake Dear Heart. He does indeed refer to syllables in the contest description but as I read his example I saw that he had 5/4/3/2/1 words so was confused. You are right that it is a lovely poem as it stands.

Hi Wendy, thanks for the compliment, you may be right about the word thing, I have sent Charlie a soup to confirm, an easy fix if indeed it is words, but I sort of like this the way it is, so may have to write another for the contest. Will let you know but I had seen others written for the contest using syllables so a bit confused now.
