The homeless man, the boots and the complex story behind the viral photo | The Star

Listen to poem:
I stand on the concrete ground feet bearing My eyes filled with tears can hardly see focus glaring The walls are on fire. Iam locked inside a house Without Windows curtains walls on the floor Somehow I'm sensing I'm yet still Outdoors Homeless and barefooter on the streets Saliva on my lips I'm about to fall and slit for the tears that I For the increase abundantness I'm engrossed inentitlement Yet gluttony has found me In my position yet still in the kitchen Naked from the knees down Homeless and barefooter on these streets My bare feet burning on the city street Homeless on this concrete ground that I stand on Standing outside a homeless shelter and positive trying to do better As I stand on concrete ground mid summer Sun's heat bearing down on me Naked feet On these summer concrete burning scorched streets Homeless and barefooted on the streets got no shoes to wear or socks just barefooted a few clothes nothing to eat or drink You see I am just homeless barefooted on these streets
