Hollow People
HOLLOW PEOPLE
I swim in calm water shallow,
furrow foaming trail in the wake.
In ardent earnest I follow
the true course I set for my sake.
Out of confused turbulent zone
I swim in calm water shallow.
Filled with joy reach the shore I own,
you float like logs from land fallow.
Empty minds bloat, make false halo,
don’t see glow of deep perception.
I swim in calm water shallow,
don’t drown to depth of deception.
Tune of my heart’s rhythm I can’t share
with you, heartless people hollow,
you beat void drums loud, I don’t hear,
I swim in calm water shallow.
