Heartless

My hands aren’t strong enough To hold my heavy heart anymore And the tears that drip down my cheeks Are staining my skin Everyone can see what happened last night Through my chest my heart’s exposed And no one will spare me They can see the shadow lurking beneath me Wanting to swallow me whole And I’ll drop into that deep doom Where nothing can pry me From the grasp on my ankles And I think I’ve cried enough To fill all the lungs And drown the world In an ocean of despair
