Heartbroken

I did not believe in love at first sight, until I saw you, I fell for you hard. I knew instantly that you were my Mr. Right, Years later, didn't show me any regard. Due to the fact that I put on some weight, You stopped coming home and didn't even call. I never thought my love would turn to hate, When you left, I was heartbroken; I’d bawl. My heart shattered into many pieces, Love is foreign; it's a stranger to me. The piercing ache in my chest increases. I’ll be alone; I'm not destined for “we.” As I look back, we were in trouble from the start, I think I will die from a broken heart. 09/06/2021 Contest: - “H”Old or New Sponsor: Constance La France

To leave a woman just for gaining weight or in a health crisis to name just two is abominable! Love the sonnet! Well done, Alexis!

Such an appropriate story to illustrate "heartbroken." I enjoyed every line, some of which I could easily relate to, Alexis. Nice job; excellent penning.
