Happy Diwali-W

happy diwali crackers yummy food house lit----- bye bad welcome good ================================= * Holiday chosen is Diwali or Deepawali, a festival of light-- will be celebrated in India on 5th November, this year. Diwali involves the lighting of small clay lamps (divas) (or Deep in Sanskrit:) filled with oil to signify the triumph of good over evil. ======================================================= Sixth place in : Contest: Holiday haiku sponsored by Deborah Guzzi

Namaste, Dr. Ram! I am so sorry that I was occupied recently with many other things and missed a lot on Soup! I remember well Diwali when I stayed with my mixed landlord family (he is Tamil, she is Singhalese) in Kandy, Sri Lanka in the 1980ies. I was invited to a very nice Hindu-Wedding in Colombo etc. and I really enjoyed your Haiku on Diwali!!! Thank you so much for your ongoing kind commets! Your friend Gert
