Happiness of Life
Happiness is the opposite of sadness
Heavenly euphoric gladness
One asks,"What could render such a feeling
Which things make life more appealing
What events deliver pleasure?"
Where a smile or laugh is it's treasure
It's usually the simplest of things
Gifts minus proverbial strings
Perhaps a puppy or a kitten
The first time your heart was smitten
Birth of a wanted child
Nature's beauty out in the wild
Times of family bonding
Physical rapturous fondling
For some, material wealth holds an attraction
Others, earning a hug from a positive action
Like helping others in need
Causing troubled waters to recede
Waking up to a new day's sun
Or just simply having fun
Satisfaction of any kind
Because happiness is a state of mind
The thing that makes me happiest
Is the promise when I finally rest
Spending time sharing and caring
For heaven I'm preparing
