By the light of the Halloween moon,*
sat a little girl humming a tune.
From a footbridge, she dangled her feet.
She was quite unsuspecting and sweet.
You see, under the bridge creatures lurked,
and against one another they worked.
They competed. All wanted her toes,
but this innocent suffered no woes.
Each ghoul thwarted the others’ success.
Dangling toes are all safe now, I guess!
