Growing Old In Love With You
I was just a young lady when I met you with desire-
Before my peak of emotions ran crazy like wild fire-
I ran to the ends of the earth to find you in love-
And now I think inside my words weren’t enough.
I was just a grown lady when I saw you with her-
But my mind racing so fast the picture was a blur-
I ran to the seat at the bar and drank myself to death-
For another minute without you I would lose my breath.
I was just an old lady when I realized you were the one-
But I never had the chance to live, you tore my world undone-
I ran to my grave in love with a stranger I thought I knew-
And now I die in loneliness taking one last gasp for you.
