Good-Bye Mama

I started writing this a few days after my mom passed in December. I ended it differently at that time to make it more inclusive of all who knew her and I read this at her memorial service. I changed the last stanza today to make it more personal.
On a cold December morning,
the angels came for you,
to take you home to Jesus,
as you bid this life adieu.
Leaving behind your brokenness,
you ascended to the pearly gates.
Freed from the shackles of earthly bonds,
you now dwell in heavenly estates.
Your youth has been restored,
and you are dancing on streets of gold,
singing with angelic choirs,
hymns both new and old.
Pain and fear no longer reign,
no more tears will you ever cry.
It's we the living who still weep,
because we must say good-bye.
Good-bye, dear Mama, I love you so.
I'll miss you, my mother, my friend.
You left this world too soon, too soon.
Farewell until we meet again.
