Good Boy Gone Wrong

Picture #1 Child at Piano Good Boy Gone Wrong He came from a good family The kind that hides its sins Raised with Christian understanding Born white the privileged colored skin He was his father's a dispensation For all the dreams he never lived His mother's subject of conversation When talking to the relatives He had the finest education But all he learned was to break the rules A study in mental masturbation He found Providence in drugs and booze Became a hostage to his habit Learned to swallow the taste of shame A prophet without a vision An insect driven to the flame The neighbors couldn't believe it Watched it on the six o'clock news That night every porch light was well-lit And every door lock put to use Some say he was driven by madness Others say lyrics to some rock n'roll song Police called the murders heinous He killed his family right in front of God

Oh, can you write - chilled me. Did this win a contest? without me noticing! I thought I was a noticer. Very, very good stuff, your lines of brevity paint complete pictures of people and relationships with unique, deep wording. You give dark all the worthy hues when you write. All the best ... CayCay
