Girlhood's Trance
On meadows deep I now recall
Winged fairies sauntering mid-air ,
To gather moon dust everywhere
Which captured me in a hazy thrall.
And bright rod was the magic key
Opening closing trails of before --
While they hummed a mystical lore
A girlhood scene , eyes did not foresee.
Till my kid brother came around ;
When gemstones spilled from pixies’ heads
Mirroring night-- the pinks and reds
Awestruck he tumbled to the ground!
Blooms, fireflies drifting ever near
A trance with no need to explain ,
Just dreams and hope , the children’s gain
Reminding us that youth bears cheer.
