Gentle Goddess
The animals sensed her appreciation of them.
They understood instinctively that she was the healer
Sent by Father Hawk to look after the forest creatures
She fixed the owl’s broken wing, and the squirrel’s tail.
She helped the buck get rid of his antlers.
They called her GG, for Gentle Goddess.
She lived up to her name, and they trusted her
With their secrets, their dreams, and their hopes.
