I shaved my head again today I G.I. Janed my mane Once again they'll be calling me Sinead time to scrape off the femininity wash that guy off of me and me from me And pray for rain! Worth additional pondering. I think sometimes remaking ourselves is very empowering. Women are more than their feminity and society/men sometimes are incapable of seeing past the physical.

...one of my favourite words, can't ya tell? ;) I'm tickled you enjoyed this so. Shaving one's head is somewhat of an exercise in self acceptance, a stripping of vanities, I hadn't thought of bravery, but you are right, it is (or can be) a facing of fears. Thank you Maria, Bless! xomo

Awesome! This is a truly awesome write my friend! I shave my head, though I'm a guy so that doesn't mean the same thing as it does to a woman! I applaud you doing it though, that is wonderful! If you want, you could shave it completely and honor a cancer patient! There are too many out there that need our support and love! That I will give to each and every one of them! wow! i admire your doing this, maureen, but it's hard for me to imagine doing the same. i bemoan the thinning of my hair as i get older ( i wear lots of hats) and want to hold onto what's left as long as i can. i enjoyed your poem, though - especially the ending...
