Forgive Me Father
O father where art thou
I desperately needed you so
Are you apathetic concerning my condition?
Or observing; perhaps my destiny’s been written in stone
My God, my father, or anyone
Why have thou forsaken me
You told me to trust you, need you, love you
I’m hanging; lost, I can barely breathe
As I walk through the darkest valley of my youth
Pain and fear manifest each day
I thought you promised to be with me
Provide comfort, in some way
Perhaps an angel will be my savior
She’ll spread her wings and help me fly
Help me foster a new beginning
Resurrect what died inside
The harsh reality… no one’s coming
Regardless of how many times I bend my knees
A God, father, or Holy Spirit
The credulity of a Trinity
They say he died for all of our sins
So we could have grace, peace, and live free
Father, I only have one question to ask
Did you forget about me?
