For the Love of Mankind

When I'm physically no longer part of this world But look down on what's left behind The eternal hatred that will exist here forever I'm really and truly of two minds I'll miss my loved ones and wish them good fortune But a feeling of sadness fills my heart The nature of man has always been combative From way back when it all had its start Why do we possess this overpowering need To destroy all that man has achieved There's no rhyme or reason for acting this way Except for selfish reasons perceived An intense desire to own other man's treasures In the name of all that is holy To kill and maim and destroy man's icons Methinks its jealousy only When I'm physically no longer part of this world But look down on what's left behind A great feeling of sadness will overcome my soul As I pray for the love of mankind © Jack Ellison 2015

Don't start weeping for us yet... We've still got LimmerJack... Just leave tons of fun prose... They'll be to busy laughing to crack any nose... And they might start printing their own prose...

Steven Hawking believes that the aggression that was a necessary survival trait to keep small tribes together, may eventually be all our downfall. Poets may be the cure. I enjoy your insights and poetry. A 7

Enjoyed your narrative, with a point, Jack. The point being, it isn't actually the people, it's Politics but then you know that! Keep writing....and thank you...
