For My Mother, Rose Marie

She’s lying there down in the grass With dad beside here, years now past. Well below the noise and bustle And leaves that fall from trees that rustle…Soft And sweetly she went about Day by day and left no doubt. As to whom she was and how she lived With all her love but for to give. To myself and others she met and cared For everyone she taught to share. Everything We have inside from laughter-smiles To tear-filled eyes. From the sunrise golden to the darkest nights She could always see An Eternal Light. That shined upon her each step she took And gave her strength and changed her looks. More angelic as time rolled on Until it ceased and she was gone. Yet I still see her face and eyes As clear as I see clear blue skies. And will until I find her once more Standing near that open door. That will lead us to another story Of Eternal Light and lasting glory.

This is not only a very beautiful tribute to a mother my dear friend Terry but absolutely an outstanding masterpiece of yours. I love it so much although I feel so much sadness while reading it. This is indeed a great heartfelt write and I can feel your great love to your mom. So sorry to hear that both of them are now gone. Words aren't enough to say how sorry I am. But I know she must have been one of the great mothers on earth. Thanks for sharing and reading mine. Love and big hugs, Leonora

Thanks so much for reading and sharing your amazing thoughts which leave me quite humbled and astounded by your reaction. I felt a similar feeling reading your own "motherly" poem and its indeed a lovely pleasure to find you here in "PSoup." Hope to be seeing more of you and your poetry as well. Cheers, Terry

A lovely tribute to what must have been a remarkable lady. You've left me all misty-eyed here, Terry. But one simple line to your mother, if I may add to your writing? Rest well in the knowledge you've reared Terry well. Licia :)
