Fly Quickly
I am afraid.
I have been here
for two hours,
I think, more.
They will not tell me, …
They just keep saying,
It will be okay.
I hate that.
It will not be.
Who are they?
That they can say,
what ever they like,
and pretend that it is true.
When it is not.
Quietly,
I speak…to Him.
A whisper.
Send them,
Your army to me.
Your shield around me,
that I may know,
You are ever,
beside me in the fire,
even when it does not…
burn.
Grateful,
I close my eyes,
and pray to be
forgotten
again,
by “they”, now…
“them”,
but never,
Him.
