Fishing was Never so Easy

Listen up you fishing freaks, there’s an easier way to get a catch, I’ve been doing it for weeks and its success has as yet no match. There’s no waiting, no squirming bait, and never any off-the-hook escape. All I do is cast my eye and target the daily catch at the fish market. Has it made an honest man of me? In truth I must confess not exactly. And though I leave the house with rod and bait, (not to do so would be odd since I tell the wife I’m on my way to a favorite place to fish all day.) The truth is I get no further than the market where I carefully scan the days selection, then make my way back home to a tasty fish fry, and best of all I never have to lie about the many that got away.

This poem is not about me, but as a teen I did do my share of fishing for brook trout (rainbow) and bull heads (catfish), all good eating, by the way. Thanks for the stop by. / Maurice

Just be careful, because the truth sometimes "catches" up with us, Maurice. What do you do to eat up time?
