First Snow Winter snow glistens painting our landscape white. Luna peers down from her lofty height bestowing her lovely glow as winter winds blow cold outside snow warm inside with hearth's fire aglow in loving arms of my beau. We both give thanks for this special night. Winter snow glistens painting our landscape white. November 20, 2018 ONE NEW ANDAREE POEM~3rd Place~ Sponsor Emile Pinet

Thank you so much for faving this Andaree Mike. It means a lot to me because it is the first one I have ever written. Andrea created a lovely form, though it was a challenge to do correctly. I appreciate that you liked it so much. I miss the snow living here in Hawaii. Blessings always, Connie xxoo : )

Well deserving of your podium finish! I spent about 3 seconds trying to do one of these and realized I lacked the competence to pull it off, let alone do so as incredibly well as you have. I really appreciate the specific imagery you've included in this and how beautifully it flows. "Loving arms of my beau" really stood out to me. A unique word choice perfectly utilized and positioned. Really really good, Connie.

I love it, Connie. Thanks for doing the form so well. With ones like this, mine may not make the list at all! One little thing, syllable counters will put fire at one syllable, which would make that hearth line off. It all depends on how carefully Emile counts syllables. You could write it as "the hearth's fire aglow"

I looked it up and guess it can be two or one syllable, so I changed it to be safe. Thanks for letting me know. I am glad you like my first Andaree Andrea. Thank you. xxoo

Ah, so this is how it's done!! Love the way you describe the cold, white beauty of snow, but also allow us to feel the warmth of the fire and the tender embrace. Your transitions are flawless and you have a sure winner here. Love, Carolyn
