Finding Reason

To stand on love's hill and watch the sunset And hear heartbeats through the valley of time They echo off canyon walls where souls wept Fading sounds lost to the sky as they climb Through long silent nights darkness will remain As the mind plays its sad flute, true and clear Worthless memories, melodies explain In sad soft notes so pained they cry, I'm here On this hill cold, I'll await a warm dawn And listen to a fragile voice within I'll struggle with anguish, until its gone To find reason and sanity again contest A Poem Written in Iambic Pentameter

Lovely poem.....that second line of the first stanza really spoke to my heart. Also, Oh, to find reason and sanity again...its not always easy. Beautifully expressed. Thank you for your kind words on my latest poem. It's much appreciated.
