Daybreak in its grey hues Its bland complexion Its trees still exposed and desolate Find me Find me here In anguish I raise my palms spread wide Find me Hunt for me in your soul Open your heart Don't let me wane without Love. At dawn the grass is frigid, and wet, and brown, so old and tired I drop here from my chair and on my knees I scream blindly into me Words only my heart can hear Find me Please find me here Don't leave me behind In crushing recognition that time did not stop World implodes in a myriad slivers of once existing euphoria. Please find me Don't leave me behind. Vow that the sun will warm me and I will hear you smile inside Saying you found me Say you found me, So I can rest my head in your hands.

Dear Darren. Please allow me to let your entry stand. I could never add anything to it nor would I want to change it. It is beyond expressive and deep. I don't have a word to express the power. Honestly. Your words prove there is beauty within pain. Well done

Lisa, thank you so very much. And it is true, you are absolutely right: there is beauty in pain. Poetry is the art that makes it possible to turn pain into beauty, and that in itself is consolation.
