They say that true love
It doesn’t expect it back—
And I don’t…
You don’t have to love me,
But my God I want you to…
I’m a romantic
But not hopeless,
And if it’s not me you choose,
I will live on,
But I will love you still…
And if one day
You choose another again
I will paint the walls of my heart
To cover where you’ve written your name,
But leave the door unlocked…
And I’ll walk through the rooms and walls
On days I just can’t stand it
And trace my fingers along the edges
Of what the paint can’t hide…
But if you choose to follow the fates
And let your heart come to me
My heart will open every door
To secret gardens and trails
So we can swim in each other’s oceans
And let the adventure set sail…
Cause darling if you let me love you
I promise you won’t regret it
For time has waited for this chance again
And the world won’t be able to forget it…
