Faint and Fading Wishes
Faint and Fading Wish
My soul wish was simple, attainable, when I was twenty
but demands of my flesh pushed her away
A wish faint and fading
I'm ready, my head argued half-heartedly, ten years later,
but my heart was not ready to take the plunge in that kind of way.
Twenty years later, following a life with no real suffering,
I thought I was ready to make my wishes come true and stay.
A wish faint and fading
My heart rose to the occasion and was on board now,
however, life entered in to contradict my wishes in every kind of way.
