"Unrest of spirit is a mark of life" - Karl Meninger There holds a troubling air of deep unease It hangs like darkened clouds above my life A distant, haunting storm I can't appease That threatens to disrupt with sorry strife Still, even through the mightiest of gales So shines a force to calm the cresting tide A virtue, bright, to ease our billowed sails The peace of God that lights us ... from inside. ~ 1st place ~ in "Unrest Of Spirit" Poetry Contest, Julia Ward, Judge & Sponsor.

Jannie, My Brother, I was so incredibly pleased to see this comment and know that you're still "around" ... you were the very first to befriend me and encourage me here (and with poetry in general) and I will always be indebted to you. I honestly believe we will meet one day, and I'll owe you one damn big hug! Blessings and peace to you and yours, my friend, I know how much you need it. Please stay safe and in touch. :-)

As usual, wonderful. The photo and poem strike at the heart. Everyone had all lines to rhyme, I didn't do that, still learning. Congrats my friend!

Thank you so much, Arturo ... funny you should say that, because I SO wanted to write more in this one, but the contest limitations wouldn't allow it. Perhaps after the contest I might add to it, or make a newer, longer version, (probably that route). Blessings! :-)
