Exactly Who You Think I Am
I am exactly who you think I am
An old woman
who looks in the mirror
and is amazed the twelve-year-old-girl is no longer there.
I am exactly who you think I am.
An older person who might be retired, only I am not.
I work every day, and I play with children, and I light up their world
In the evening I draw cartoons and I paint them.
My entire house is full of black lights; for I am a hippie and my
paintings are neon.
I am exactly who you think I am.
a woman who travels to far away worlds
as a pirate queen, a woman warrior, a mystical, magical witch
A woman who draws women with purple hair and green faces.
A woman who believes in faeries and brownies, and pixie dust.
I am exactly who you think I am
until you get to know me, which is not easy
for I am a listener, not a talker.
I am an observer, not a speaker.
I am a lover, not a singer, or a dancer.
It takes a really good listener to get to know me.
If you are that, we might have a chance.
