Soft Shadows

How helplessly I lie a relic of age and time staring at these glaring lights lost in weary, endless nights. Feverish dreams of long forgotten years burn like fire within me they drag me through the mire for I was once admired I was once desired. The midnight hour drones on and on and now, somehow I can see the essence of soft shadows coming down the hall yes...I can see them clearly now drifting softly down the hall oh sweet comfort I can see them all! Tender hands, gentle smiles soothing voices I recall faithful figures, mercy mild their shadows bring me peace within these weary walls. Greedily I drink the elixir of their kindness a healing, soothing balm angel shadows bring great calm banishing the loneliness that haunts within these walls. Sweet serenity their shadows bring as I’m ushered from these halls I close my eyes and fly away for I hear heaven’s call. Written 5/7/2018

Flows so smoothly and hopefully about old age---your faith shines through here and it is peaceful.

In your photo you look about 11 years young; so how can you write so well? This is poetry, Laura, pure and simple.

This is my favorite part of a well-written poem: " How greedily I drink the elixir of their kindness a healing, soothing balm angel shadows bring great calm banishing the loneliness that haunts within these walls." it is all good, but this just hit me.

The loneliness is always the worst at night but when I think of all the drama involved in a relationship, i smile and thank God I am alone:) Kinda sad but still yet a positive ending. I enjoyed reading you today, laura.
