Enjoy
If this was my last poetry contest
A poem written when I am alone
Would it be about years I can attest
Or be about all the lover's I've known
Should I decide to invite this venture
To free the mind and allow pen to flow
And write a poem to be indentured
To see if my thoughts will begin to grow
Today I think when ever I find time
I'll sit and ponder a poem for you
To find the correct choice of words to rhyme
And hope they create a feeling of new
In the dim light of day as shadows fall
I sit with paper and begin to scrawl
