So solemnly she gazed across the river
as she realized the depth of her mistake.
Paradise would never be her home again
for she'd believed the lies of an evil snake.
Peace doves flew, without a branch to offer.
Remorse for her loss, written on her face
and aware, for the first time of being naked,
her tears spilled for she had fallen from grace.
For ignoring the truth of her Creator's Words,
from the glorious Garden, she'd been cast off.
With the blush of shame, she woefully cried
while Satan laughed with a sneer and a scoff.
Life outside of Eden's gate was to be the fate
of Adam, her mate, and the woman called Eve.
The penance for sin would be paid with death.
Each breath she drew gave her reason to grieve.
