Dreaming
Dreaming that she still loves me
even though I know she can not
I keep on dreaming
Refusing to awake into a world of loneliness
I escape into a world of her
Dazzle and bewitched by memories
I feed my aching breaking heart
yearning for the sweetness of her love
troubled by the guilt of loss
hollowed by the depletion of self
I cling to the softness of dreaming
In dreams, we are together
In dreams we are lovers
In dreams we are magic
In dreams, the world is right again
Warm and comfortable are the shades of night
the deep blue still holds us together
All is good, all is perfection
As I reach for her hand and our eyes meet
A sudden brightness blinds me into the break of day
Awaken, alone
Awaken, heartbroken
Awaken is a shell, empty and dying inside
The day drifts slowly by
my mind wanders
of thoughts of my beloved
As evening shades over the ending day
I lie awake alone as if floating in the air
Over the bed we shared
Closing my eyes I smile
falling into dreaming
Sweet dreaming
of you
