Dozen Red Roses

Dozen Red Roses Just remember my darling dear When you and I were very near A lovely rose in your pretty hair Brought back memories we share. All of my money I spent away Dozen red roses sent you one day Of those only one remains alive Only thing left that does survive. So slowly time still travels by Cannot sleep even if hard I try Cried myself to sleep the other night No one was left to hold me tight. Away bad dreams I so love her still Last red rose up on the window sill Is the only thing she has left behind This is all of her left I now can find. For eleven days she has been dead Wish it would have been me instead Last red rose love you and her still God bring her back if you only will. James Thomas Horn, Retired Veteran
