Do Not Do Drugs

My husband was helping clean out an old shed With our dog contently watching him All rubbish items were thrown to the ground Ready to go in the big hire bin Very late the same evening while we watched t.v I thought our dog looked somewhat cock-eyed Sitting upright with his eyelids closing Leaning right over to one side He tried to walk but couldn’t His legs just wouldn’t move We popped him between us on our bed Hoping through the night he would improve. He lay all night in the exact some spot Did not even move a limb I lay awake all night Cuddling and comforting him Morning arrived we were off to the vet Worried and in sombre moods Though when he woke, off the bed he jumped Straight to his water and food He ate ,drank and slept all day long Our boy was again relaxed and happy There were no signs anything was wrong now Other than he was a ravenous ,weary chappy ! Baffled by the situation We discussed what had occurred My husband suddenly remembered something In that moment we both knew …..without a spoken word! While cleaning out that old shed that day A small plastic bag found had been thrown to the floor Inside was some old dried up vegetation Just some rubbish and nothing more Our dog was found licking inside the bag Completely in a world of his own My husband smelt the bag …..”it was weed” Our dog had been off his head stoned!!!!
