As you’re walking down the street And a stranger walks past you Take a moment to give a smile And a nod of kind salutation As you go to dine in a restaurant And are addressed by the waiter Take a moment to give a greeting That will help them to feel better As you pass by a homeless man And he looks at you with a empty stare Take a moment to respond with kindness A hello with some word of appreciation As you enter a convenience store And pass beside another customer Take the moment to give him a hello And offer the opportunity for conversation As you go to your family dinner and meeting Remember to listen to what is said to you And give a warm reply that will honor another Giving them the feeling that you do love them As you awake to your beautiful family at dawn Take the time to express your kindness and love With words of appreciation and happiness That they are the ones you’re spending life with As you go to church on the next Sunday morning Don’t forget to shake hands with those near you Who will be grateful for the exchange of reunion With others who believe in Jesus Christ, too As you give to some charity or possibly tithe Be generous with what God has blessed you with Remember that it is all His when all is said and done And giving back is a way You honor God’s Son “Let all that you do be done with love” ~ 1 Corinthians 16:14
