Deep Roots of Love

The deeper we dig down Our roots twist and turn Yours have twisted all around me Turning my thoughts deeper Into the ground Each day you quench my thirst Watering my leaves for spring Creating a most beautiful flower That I have ever seen Each hour we are together My limbs become stronger Wrapping your rings around me Counting each day one by one Your leaves always whispering love Each day the wind blows Our roots together have become stronger The strongest wind will not make us fall For our roots now entangled under ground Covered deep within our souls Placed in your bark a heart Carved with our names Written so that all may see Our love has been placed Deep within our roots of love

This is an amazing poem Bobby - you describe the life and soul and heart of how a trees roots grow and their thirst quenched by life sustaining water and pure love - I love the lines "our roots together have become stronger" and "placed in your bark a heart carved with our names" A talented and awesome poem my friend. Hugs, Jennifer.
