Death, You Do Not Win

Death, You Do Not Win The world has been unkind to me yet there's no where, no where to flee. I'll sit and take it if I must for all return to earthly dust. To cry will do no worldly good. Defy with spirit, as I should. A loss that cannot be replaced yet life must once again be faced. So here I sit and wonder how to stop the gloom which eats me now. Can it be slain with greater love or only healed by God above? Once, anger always worked for me but now, this time decides to flee. Yet I seek not its quick return true folly that my Soul shall spurn! Robert J. Lindley, 10-05-2014 Note : Contest Giorgio A. V. Robert, A very well-conceived and well-articulated write here. The emotion and sense of loss are quite obvious. This one is a "7" from me my good friend. Best of Luck in the contest!! Best Wishes, Gary

Reminds me of the poem by John Donne. Death Be not Proud. Very heartfelt write, my dear. Good luck in the contest with this write...It flows ever so smoothly....

I am sorry for your loss, Robert. This is such a sweet, sweet poem, even though the words and meanings are very sad. Sometimes they can be both, and I maintain these do.

Inspirational wise words Robert - I am sure many can relate to being sad and angry but in the end it often causes more problems and will never bring that person back. Hugs Jan xxx
