Mummy says its time for me to say my prayers
I know she listens on the landing by the stairs
I kneel down by the side of my cosy bed
Soon it will be time to rest my weary head
Every night I close my eyes and pray
To say thank you God for a lovely day
God bless mummy; I say that every night
God bless daddy; now a star that shines so bright
Please God can you stop mummy from crying
She’s so so sad with my daddy dying
Look after grandma Bo and grandpa Boo
Daddy was their son he loved them too
God please can you tell mummy I don’t like cheese
It tickles my throat and then makes me wheeze
Can you help me with the answers to my maths test
I will practice my times tables, I will try and do my best
Mummy says I can have a little kitten for being so good
But I’d swap the kitten to have daddy back if I could
PLEASE God can you stop mummy from crying
She’s so so sad with my daddy dying
AMEN
