Dawn of Morn Mourns Break of Yesterday
Sunrise cracks today's dawn egg
With runny yolk in sky, sunny side-up
How quick the red morn sky fades and dissipates.
Few people see the break of day, at the crack of dawn each morn
It is a peaceful, haunting time lasting just three egg-timer minutes
Just enough time to mourn 'Yesterday'
With wake and toast to say 'Yes, Today'.
Only the early risers know what the new day might bring
Sailors get warning, farmers get signs of rain or clear, hung on horizon
Fishers, joggers, walkers and riders all revel and herald
The muted silent crack of dawn's egg breaking.
