Dark Lover
Dark Lover
Sleep so deep
it never ends
embrace me
Wrap me in your dark arms
give me your lovers kiss
Remove me from this house of distorted images
Please let me sink deep into your softness
There will be no one left to disappoint
not even myself
I wonder
will you keep your promises?
Are you to be my inevitable companion?
Does my path ultimately lead to your boudoir?
I fear that you will also betray me
if I consummate our unholy union
Will I be delivered to the gates of hell?
I am seduced by you
the one who masquerades as my lover.
You sing to me from your rocky shore,
beckoning with your Siren song.
Still somehow, I am held back
God’s light floods the darkness.
I become immune to your allure.
So I turn my face towards the sun,
feeling it’s warmth as it floods my soul.
My strength is renewed.
Laughter bubbles up from a place long forgotten.
My instinctive desire to disappear fades.
Listen to my voice singing…
Feel the joy of my discovery.
Yesterday is not today.
I am still me and yet I am far from the same.
I now wish to reside in the light.
You Dark entity
have lost your power to seduce me.
I now know,
we were never meant to be lovers.
