Damn You, Eve

Mourn my loss of innocence; the Queen of Love, and I her prince. Dance, we dance, all the way to Heaven- born of grief, and the things I have written...And dare I ask, or merely inquire, on who doth Love me, and who is a liar? Just say my name, old curse of shame, cloaked in dark, and murky colors No skies to fly, no seas to sail, no land on which to keep my Lovers All too silent, this lonely night; No choice to choose, no grounds to fight These pleading words, and Fools in herds- marching to the Ends of the Earth People I loath, and you were told: I do wish Eve hadn't given birth...

If Adam could talk....interesting piece. It flows so well but the blame ..oh the blame.... yet I detect a hint of his own regret, deep in the lines. Is this where our nostalgia for gardens began? SuZ

This poem has so much depth in it..Its as if blaming Eve for our existence. To be born out of grief and face the loniliness of nights..yet nights won t all be lonely..nor days too cold..and grief will birth its joy..that is every human breathing on this milky way..Excellent rhyme

This is an older piece and decided to leave it the way I originally wrote it; it adds a little variety I think. Thanks, JM! :)

Thought provoking and the source of many quarrels through the years... Adam told God Almighty, "It was this woman you gave me..... She made me do it" (paraphrased)....I look at that as the first 'copout' --- There's blame enough to go around..... Nice write, sweetheart.... Jake

Hey, Archaic, it reminds me so sweet souvenirs! My son,, when he was a little boy, used to weep and say really angrily "I hate Adam and Eve!" whenever he had to come to me because he disobeyed and wanted to apologize! And he was so sad and so unhappy to do wrong! (He had learned from sunday school that we inherited sin from the originating couple! Couldn't they keep quiet!!!!) Fortunately, he grew up learning the whole story...
