Connoisseur

I do not wish to drink of you with greedy lips My desire is for you to linger on my palette As your heady aroma fills my nostrils I will taste of your complexities Marvelling at the colours of your essence I do not not wish to be intoxicated For I desire to make this pleasure last Within my mouth a symphony The interplay of the seasons of your soul I taste the winter, spring and summer of our waiting Until this moment of falls bounty Through the patience of knowing I now experience all of your seasons.

Richard this is beautifully written. I'm surprised no one mentioned the intimate romantic relationship you are associating the drinking of the wine with. Clever and erotic. Beautifully done. Congratulations on your win.

A refreshing poem that speaks volumes about the mind set of the author as he indulges his senses with a glass of vintage wine. Emile.

In this case the wine was merely a metaphor for being with a woman. I did read it myself from your perspective and that also works. Thanks Emile.

I stumbled off of my galloping horse of salaciousness and was interupted by this down to earth poesy...TY dear poet! At the moment,*lumb, I have been the some what "naughty boy" as some of our fellows here on the Soup have doved mine likes from time to time. It's all with poetic facetiousness my friend. Anywho, possitively a fantastical write Richard....have a wonderful new week, you and yours....much love, james
