Thirsty, my spirit begs
The Holy Spirit to erase
The darkness, the dread
The feeling lost in nighttime
Thoughts welcoming moonlight
Stardust sensations, dreams
Caressing the heart of one who knows
His love will overcome the shadows
The dusky gloom, depressing
Bleak as the kiss that is pressed against
Hollow cheek, lost on the soul
Who is an agnostic mess of uncertainty
Hungry, my soul pleads
For His spirit to refill my own
With kindness, hope and sincerity
Love that never lets me go
Through the darkness alone
Never releases me to the elements
When snow falls quietly, in hues of soft
Silent wisdom, melancholic, pure
Like the angel’s wings blessing, soothing
Away the grief of a summer storm
Cleansing my doubts and distrust
Reminding the cynic to believe in Him
His gift is complete forgiveness
Sins have been absolved
By the One who knows me, all of me
Like His fingerprint, His crest
Promising me that I will live again
Even after I meet with death
Because I know Him… I am blessed
With eternity in the presence of my Redeemer
