Cold Moon Rising You wicked lady, when your orb is filled with light You may enhance romance, or cause two foes to fight. On this first day of spring, your silver light shines bright. You captivate my eyes held in awe of your sight. As my love and I walk this sandy shore tonight Your moonbeams cause our sparks of ardor to ignite As our hearts entwined in love's passion soon take flight. 3-20-19 Pick A Title, Vol. 2 - Rhyme - Poetry Contest Sponsored by: Edward Ibeh

Oh just excellent excellent! Such a lot of work went into this and I see the careful set in rhyme and the beautiful choice of words. I feel the dance here. Great presence of the moon with her moody ways for acting up or in loving. Really nice work!

The Moon is not alone. At least, she has you and me) Beautiful iambic hexameter with an heptameter line as the final culmination. J'aime)

Your words describe it perfectly and you also made it distinctive. Hard to to do when so much has already been said on subject down the ages. Regards David in NZ

Monorhymes are so not-easy, and usually sound a little forced. In your case, Connie, I did not realize it WAS a monorhyme at first. I recognized this lady as the moon almost immediately, which is also a first for me. I am not terrific at metaphoric poetry reading. However, this one captured me and made me feel from the first three words "you wicked lady" - a bit of pride and joy in the moon.
