Christmas Angels

( Christmas Angels )

Times were tough, no job living on the street
Amy has hit rock bottom, hard to stay on her two feet
Divorced from her husband, no house to call a home
Two kids under her wing, and the streets is where they roam

Sleeping in shelters at night, with very little to feed their belly
The same clothes on their backs, soon become quite smelly
No where to turn to, she has given up on any hope
Her kids cry that their hungry, its hard for her to cope

A woman approaches on the street, exiting a truck
I want to help you and your kids, your down on your luck
Come with me I wont hurt you, I know you must be cold
We pulled up to a motel, the place was looking old

Inside the room it was warm, the smell was really pleasant
To my surprise on the bed, was a box that read ( present )
My kids unwrapped the paper, and opened up the box
Tears streamed down my face, on what was by the socks

A check and note was there, I couldn`t believe my eyes
The woman just looked at me, as I wiped away the cry`s
I was once in your situation it read, with no place to go
A kind man came up to me, and said God wanted him to show

Now I have a job and home, my shoulders she was caressing
I want to continue this gift, and pass on God`s great blessing
Take this money and get a home, I wish you all the best
I pray that you find a job, God Bless with your success

thank you Heidi. I enjoy doing poems where it feels like the reader is in the poem themselves. Have a great day
