Christmas Alone
while the world rejoices
in a whirlwind of snowflurries
under a dark velvet cloak
intent my curtains drawn
I make myself invisible
behind closed doors
shunning crowds of
gregarious exuberance
alone and isolated
aloof keeping my distance
searching for solace
within the quiet of my walls
