Perusing old photos of friends
rekindled childhood memories.
And their silly smiles took me back
to a great summer had by all.
A squelching sun tanned our skin bronze
as we chased tadpoles in the creek.
We searched for lost pirate treasure
and pledged to be friends forever.
Trust forged the bonds of our friendship,
flipping frowns into happy smiles.
And each face is etched on my heart,
where it enjoys eternal youth.
Time played tunes it'll never repeat
while we danced to its unique beat.
And our innocence felt complete,
enjoying life and having fun.
