Cheryl's Poem, Love and Agony
All the years I spent with you.
you the one,
my special love,
my wife.
Through your sorrow,
I waited for you,
while you measured
your life.
All the years,
all the sorrow at the end,
all you said was,
"sorry and good-bye".
I still whisper your name
from time to time,
"Cheryl",
it still sounds so sweet.
Bringing my agony
to the surface.
Can one heal
when nothing was real ?
In your moment of despair,
I was there,
like the air you breathe,
I was there !
I seen the truth in your eyes,
but our friends said,
she'll come around
and see what she has.
So I sat back,
put my life on hold
and waited for you,
while you doubted life.
Memory brings the agony
of days gone by,
lost to a fate
I didn't choose.
