Chasing a Rainbow
All my life- I have been chasing a rainbow shadow,
for that treasure just beyond the next meadow.
But, along this journey I have found such deep love,
from family and friends- and sweetness like a dove.
And in that pot at the end I do not need gold,
all I need is tranquility, peace and memories to hold.
Gold and money cannot buy me a life of peace,
it is things I do each day that will bring me happy release.
Oh, sure, there will be days of tears and days of rain,
twists, turns and mountains to climb again and again.
But at the end- in my final breath I will say,
I found my rainbow each and every single day.
