Can You

Can I lay by your side right next to you Can you comfort a fallen man's cries cries so ever true Mother Mary can you put in a good word tonight as another child weeps Will you lend your helping hand lulling bad times off to sleep Without her next to me how can I be how can I breathe As I lay her down tonight my heart no longer beats Swoop down and pick me up cradle me in all your tender love Shine your stars in my darkened night Let me see her everlasting light Can I lay by your side tonight Can your wind be in my soul Can you stay and comfort me til it's time to bring me home

Sounds a lot like a prayer, Tim. Replace a few pronouns and it would be a magnificent child's prayer. Really nice!
